Well there are only a few hours left in 2008… it would appear that every year goes by faster than the one before. So much has happened this year, much of it good for me – though not easy.
I’ve got to write here more – I’ve been rather slow in posting lately. I’m working on a thoughtful response that’s going into an upcoming blog post that I thought I would have posted by now. Besides that I’m also working on an all new QuickClickMedia.com site built using WordPress. In addition to that I wanted create and launch a new site for my photography (only) but with all things considered, that project will have to be pushed back a bit. Things have been pretty busy with church as well. So far I’m scheduled to sing 3 out of the next 4 weeks.
Christmas was a bit of a blur for me as well. A new singing group at my church did an outreach at Cook County Jail that was amazing. God really blessed that event in ways far beyond what any of us could have imagined. That was probably the highlight of my Christmas. I didn’t exchange any gifts this year – and I’m ok with that.
I also spent some time (and money) preparing a photography portfolio – something I haven’t done since I was in school! Even before I went to shooting digital, I was only keeping copies of my work on the computer. I haven’t had an 8×10 of anything in years – with the exception of a rare print out at home. It’s great to see my work ‘offline’ again, and I’m really happy with the quality of what I’ve been producing using Adobe Lightroom. Hopefully I can extend my reach a bit more with this.
For new year I’m making plans to spend the evening with some buddies I haven’t seen in a while. In previous years I would attend service at my old church, but I want to do something new this year. I’m not expecting the evening to be ‘thrilling’ but who knows, I may have a blast.

In the event that I don’t post anything more before 2009 hits, I want to thank all who have read this blog – even if only once. At present I don’t have a lot of regular ‘readers’ but it helps me to know that I’ve had a few people say they were encouraged by something they read when they stumbled uppon this place. That makes my heart glad.
Be Blessed in the New Year!
–Darren
