| Description: | Willow Chicago's Annual Serving Event where our church makes a concentrated effort to worship through serving in the city of Chicago. Five different serving opportunities happened simultaneously on Sunday, August 22, 2010. At the 5 Loaves event, over 100 people came to hear stories of Willow Chicago members who have experienced or are currently homeless. Next, hygiene care packages were assembled to be distributed on the streets that day. The packages included toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, a granola bar, and information about the 5 Loaves ministry. Finally, a gift card was given to participants and every person commissioned to use that card to take someone who is homeless to lunch for fellowship and to hear their story. |
