If you have installed or created a custom page on Facebook this quick tutorial will show you the steps to make it the default landing page for new visitors (people who have not liked your page or people who are not logged into Facebook. This tutorial assumes that you are logged into your Facebook account that is already an administrator for the page you want to modify and that you have already installed / set up the new/custom tab on your Facebook page.
Step 1:
Click on “Edit Page” in the upper right hand corner. This will take you to the “Manage Permissions” tab of the Edit screen.
Step 2:
You’ll see several options on the page. Toward the middle of the page you’ll find “Default Landing Tab:” and by default it may be set to “Info” or “Wall”. Click the drop-down menu here to get a list of all available tabs on your page. Now select your custom page (or whatever page you choose) to be the default page visitors will see. This setting only applies to visitors who who have not already ‘Liked’ your page or to visitors who are not logged into Facebook.
Finally, click “Save Changes” and you’re done!
The Default Landing Tab is a GREAT way to increase the exposure of your brand if you have done the work of customizing a tab. This is my first Social Media tutorial and I plan to make more in the future. If you have questions, feel free to leave them in the comments section and I’ll do my best to help you out or send you to where you can find help.
